The Process

Designing a cake should be fun! My goal is to make your experience with me smooth and enjoyable.

 

Phase 1 - Inquirying About Your Event

To learn more about how Marian Louise Cakes can make your dream cake for your event, please fill out an inquiry form here. Once received, I will inform you on my availability. We may discuss any details regarding the event, budget, and inspiration.

 
 

 
 

Phase 2 - Schedule a Tasting and Design Consultation

For cake consultations, you will taste 4 cake flavors and we will discuss event details, design inspiration, serving sizes, and budget. 

It’s important to bring some inspirational ideas to the meeting, such as a mood board, invitation, fashion, venue, and more in order for me to design a cake based on your event details. 

A cake consultation cost $60.

 
 

 
 

Phase 3 - Designing and Creating your Cake

If we’re a great fit and you decide to move forward, a $150 non-refundable retainer is required to start the design process. This cost will go towards your order total.

During the design process, you will receive 3 cake sketches to review. Once we agree on a design, a proposal will be sent, then a signed contract along with a 50% deposit is required to finalize your order.

I understand that your style can change, therefore revisions can be made up to 4 weeks before the event date. Keep in mind that cake changes may cost extra. 

 
 

 
 

Phase 4 - Final Touches

4 weeks prior to your event date, the remaining 50% balance is due. A week before the event, I will liaise with your event coordinator to arrange delivery and set-up.
